Shannon - Tumbling
I had been an elite gymnast and trampolinist before falling in love with Cheer at University and have never looked back. I have competed at county, regional and national level in gymnastics and trampoline and internationally in Cheerleading.
I am WAG 2 qualified and have over 10 years experience coaching gymnastics. My favourite part to coach is tumble including the skills backhandsprings, tuck backs, punch fronts and linking those skills. I love to help build confidence in athletes and I see them progress in skills and look forward to continuing this with UKTC.
I am currently a Tumbler and bass on CHP White Fang in the Io5 division this season where we compete at Worlds this April 2023 and have high hopes for what we can achieve this season. My car and I travel over 660 miles every single week to be on my dream team. I hope my dedication to all things Cheerleading and Tumbling inspires younger and older athletes to take Cheer as far as they can and achieve absolutely all of their dreams.
Laura C - Dance Technique, Jazz, Pom, Lyrical, Cheer, Tumbling
I been involved in dance for over 25 years after attending my first ballet class at 2 years old.
Initially I trained for exams in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, freestyle disco, latin and ballroom (BTDA/BATD) as well as also competing in gymnastics and trampolining. Other early achievements included regularly performing in musicals and training/performing with the English Youth Ballet.
In 2011 I discovered the world of Cheer and Pom dance at university and have never looked back.
After finishing my university pom and cheer career with multiple National champion titles I joined an Allstar team where several years later I now coach.
From 2016-2022 I competed as part of Team England Freestyle Pom and was proud to be captain for the 2022 team that came 5th. Retiring from competing, I was then honoured to be part of the coaching staff from the 2023 team. I
regularly coach, choreograph and do workshops for university Pom teams as well as working in the Allstar world. I hold qualifications with IDTA, ICU, BGU and regularly take qualifications/workshops to expand my skillset and knowledge so that I can bring the best in safe coaching, fun skills, and fresh choreography to those that I work with.
Rachel - Dance Technique, Pom, Jazz
Rachel has a background in technical dance.
She joined th Bristol Jets university dance team, progressing to become captain and choreographer for their elite allstar pom team.
Working though lockdown to maintain team skills, they went on to become University National Champions with Rachel's choreography.
Rachel then joined Expecto international open pom team as she transitioned to allstar dance, achieving an Allstar Worlds bid.
Following graduation, Rachel moved to Manchester where she successfully auditioned for the Red Hot Flames international allstar pom team, competing at IASF Worlds 2023.
Rachel continues to compete with Flames and will attend IASF Worlds 2024. She also coaches Jazz and dance technique.
Amy - Dance Technique, Lyrical
Amy has over 20 years dance experience as she hasn’t stopped dancing since the age of 4! From taking ballet and modern classes until the age of 18 and achieving intermediate levels in both, Amy first experienced the cheer world when she joined her university cheer and dance team. She fell in love with the supportive atmosphere and the buzz that you get from competing on the biggest stages alongside your teammates and best friends. Amy has been coaching for many years and brings a lot of technical knowledge into her classes alongside a fun, relaxed yet hard working atmosphere. She started coaching at the age of 14 where she assisted with children’s classes, before being made dance captain of her dance schools elite performance group. Here she choreographed a small group piece as well as assisting with choreography in larger groups. Amy also has links to her local amateur dramatics society where she has choreographed the pantomime 3 times. Following this, she joined Bath Spa Rapids when she went to university. After competing in a number of dance teams, Amy gained the position as jazz captain in her final year and successfully coached her team to win their 3rd consecutive national title. The year before this, Amy competed with the university jazz team at ECU after winning a bid, where they placed 6th. Amy now lives in Leeds where she competes with Leeds Dynamite senior pom team. She also coaches two lyrical teams for the programme, as well as offering private classes and solo/duet choreography. She loves coaching and seeing dancers reach their full potential.
