Coaches Training

230 Intensives, in conjunction with the UK Tumbling Collective, offer coaches professional development training all year round. This can be delivered privately, in-house to your own group of coaches; or, we offer open coaching workshops with an opportunity to network with other instructors. Current opportunities are listed below. 

COACHES TUMBLING EDUCATION
(CONTINUED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES)

In-person coaches CPD covering tumbling drills, spotting techniques and effective conditioning for coaches of cheer, dance and acro disciplines.

Held at Steel City Sports gym in Sheffield, this training course will provide new ideas for making conditioning fun for athletes, discussion on how to use equipment effectively for a wide range of drills and safe progressions for mastery of connected tumbling skills.

Aimed at coaches looking to broaden their repertoire of drills, refresh their knowledge or gain new ideas to enliven their tumbling/acro classes.

​

The presenter, Melissa Thoms, is nationally renowned tumbling instructor with a wealth of experience educating both athletes and coaches. She has a proven track record of producing athletes with the highest calibre of tumbling technique and is widely respected for her contribution to developing elite opportunities for UK athletes.

​

Please note, this course does NOT provide a qualification and is not recognised by insurance providers as a certification. This is a personal development course for existing certified coaches, or those looking to complete their instructors course in the near future through a recognised provider. Junior coaches can attend, with their fully qualified supervising coach.

Discounts are available for multi-coach bookings (book 3 get one free) and for junior coaches under 18 years of age.

The day is split into 2 sessions. Coaches can attend either session, or both at a discounted price

​

Morning: 10.00am - 11.30am

Equivalent to beginner / intermediate skills (roughly aligned with IASF L1-2 for cheerleading).

​

Covering cartwheels, round-offs, walkover, aerials, handsprings, headsprings, and roundoff backhandspring series.

 

Afternoon. 12.00pm - 2.00pm

Equivalent to advanced / elite skills (roughly aligned to IASF L3-6 for cheerleading).

​

Tucks, layouts, punch-fronts, twisting layouts.
